On Saturday, March 9, the Academic Mission 2024 "INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS WEEKS CANADA", a program organized and encouraged by the Canada-Peru Chamber of Commerce (CCCP), in alliance with Linkers International Education, culminated.

26 participants, including university students and young professionals, had an international experience of two academic weeks in one of the most outstanding educational institutions in Canada: Thompson Rivers University (TRU), located in the city of Kamloops, province of British Columbia.

The courses taught by TRU, focused on business, included master classes in "Intercultural Communications for Business" and 6 workshops with the following topics:

  • Creativity & Innovation
  • Business Etiquette: Negotiations
  • Inviting Business to Your City
  • Economics in Action
  • Maximizing a Professional Online Presence
  • Modern Day Management and Human Resource Application

In addition, participants visited outstanding companies in the region (Business Tours) where they learned about different business models. They also went to a field hockey game, a sport that originated in Canada, and explored the city of Kamloops and Kelowna through day trips to emblematic places.

Business tours:

  • Iron Road Brewery (local brewery)
  • Kekuli Café (coffee shop)

Day Trips:

Read the testimonials of some of our students, such as Pedro Lescano, who highlights the visits to companies and the opportunity to learn about their business models.

"It was an excellent experience and I have learned a lot about the culture of different countries. I got to know the work method of some companies, how they were born as ventures, have been consolidated and take great presence in Kamloops. Every moment was valuable and I enjoyed it a lot."

Likewise, Alvaro Maguiña commented on his interest in pursuing a postgraduate degree in Canada after the experience he gained.

"It was an incredible experience. The possibility of getting to know new cultures and their systems greatly enriches every student who was part of this program.
